Musites FAQs

What is Musites?

Musites.com is an advanced search engine to help you find music websites.

Musites is unlike any other search engine becuase it focuses mainly on web sites created by music fans rather than official sites. If you want to find the official site of an artist, Google or Yahoo will serve your needs but Musites will help you to find some real gems, often more informative and easier to navigate than official sites.

How do I use Musites?

The search engine is highly advanced although at the same time, very easy to use. Most searches can be quickly performed by simply entering the Artist's name, but more complex ones can be performed if desired. When a site gets added to Musites, they can provide information including the Artist's country of origin or the number of sound clips or pictures the site contains. Play with the search yourself to explore all the options.

How can I tell others about Musites?

Some ideas: You could tell your friends, mention it on appropriate mailing lists you subscribe to or message boards that you visit. You could mention it on your website or get others you know with websites to put a link on their site. Cut and paste either piece of XHTML code below and put it wherever you wish on your website.

As a webmaster/webmistress, what would I get out of joining Musites?

Your site will receive increased traffic and improved search rankings on some of the main Internet search engines such as Google. The more accurate detail you provide when joining, the more likely that your site will be seen by a visitor to Musites. The extra detail could be especially useful to somebody who wants to know about "all of the three-piece blues bands from Russia" for example, or for somebody who wants to find certain live music tracks.

What about MP3s?

I will not be held responsible if you illegally hold copyrighted material on your website.

How do I pronounce Musites?

Musites is a combination of two words - "Music" and "Sites". So the "Mu" part is pronounced as in the word "Music" and the "sites" part is pronounced exactly as you pronounce the word "sites".

Is there a mobile version of Musites?

Musites should work on a mobile device although it is not a high priority becuase most of the sites in the database cannot be accessed on mobile phones at this time.
